Northwest Online
have been chosen to develop an extranet site
for Blue
Apple Contract Catering Limited. The system
will link their 20 retail outlets with the in-house
management system - Sage Line 50. It will enable
the head office to control suppliers, and monitor
hourly purchases and takings and stock levels.
The system will have IP restricted access and
tiered password security. The ability to control
purchases and stock monitoring and will drastically
cut the time currently spent inputting data
on to the current system.

In its most basic form
an intranet is a web site that is only available
to employees in your company. They would typically

Although an extranet is

it is split into two with clients and suppliers
accessing different sections and employees being
