The Retail Guru is a sale aggregation site which collates sales from major high street retailers and displays them online.

The site has been designed to tell the shopper which clothing stores are having a SALE, when it starts and where it is.

The system uses Yahoo API to enhance search results By using geo-coding we can deliver results for almost any location in the country and if there are no sales listed the site will tell you what town or city has the nearest sale and the distance to it.

Retailers have their own dashboard allowing them manage brands, retail outlets, sales, products, start and finish dates, and images. The system also encompasses a web service & data feed module so product feeds are linked automatically from the retailers website to the specific sale.

The new website showcases the company, staff and technology used by Blue Apple throughout its many contracts around the South of England.

The People section of the website uses a flash gallery which is easily updated by an XML file. The site also features 3D virtual Tours and showcases Catering & Hospitality Software also built by Northwest Online.

This e-commerce web site has been expanded over 2008 and 2009 to encompass Multi Currency and Multi Lingual aspects. It has multiple product feeds including feed integration with ;Kelkoo, Shopzilla, Google Products UK, Germany and USA.

2010 Redesign of Silver Island Jewellery

Northwest Online have been working closely with Silver Island 2007 and their SEO company Fresh Egg for the last 6 months. It was decided that a new website design should be undertaken with Fresh Egg providing SEO guidance and Northwest Online providing design and technical updates. This latest work has seen the website completely re-structured with an even stronger focus on search engine optimisation techniques.

The project; to re-design the existing Alex Stewart Agriculture website encompassed a full Content Management System (CMS) build.

With over 200 pages including the interactive map which displays the companies world wide offices, controlling the site content using a CMS was imperative.

The CMS allows new pages to be created with the click of a button. Different colour templates where created and loaded into the CMS to reflect the different companies within the group.

The CMS encompass full navigation and page management whilst collating RSS feeds from leading industry sites which are displayed along side the companies internal news stories and RSS feeds.

Unlike many content management systems this CMS creates physical pages rather than using query sting and ids. This method of development is more search engine friendly and reduces the load on the database server.
