This sounds daunting but
basically it boils down to ensuring the site
links aren't confusing search engines. Many
e-commerce web sites are unwittingly
partly invisible because database
characters like #&*!% -
which are often found in the page links i.e. www.mywebsite.com/products.asp?t=4171 are "spider
traps". The resulting
page name often deters search engines.
These
characters indicate database-generated pages
and will keep search engines spiders from going
any further into the site. Search engines get "stuck"
in these sites, so they have been programmed
to detect and then ignore dynamic pages.
Using ASP.NET our system
allows you to set all the information required
to make each product page a search engine
friendly 'physical page'. The resulting page
name is much more appealing to search engines
i.e. www.mywebsite.com/brand/productname

newsletter you can then save it or move directly

Last Purchase Date etc and then send a targeted
email to a specific group. i.e. Women who
purchased Shoes can receive an email with
the latest shoes where as women how purchased

Payment Processing Online
While it is possible to
run an on-line store without accepting on-line
payments, this is cumbersome and rarely successful.
Accepting on-line payments via credit cards
is currently the most effective means of online
transactions but requires high level of security
